THE LORD'S PROMISE


Good night, my child,
I'll look after you,
So you may sleep well,
All this night through.
 
I heard you pray, child,
Often today,
I was there with you,
Each time you prayed.
 
I kept you from falling.
I calmed your fears,
When you were hurting,
I dried your tears.
 
I give you my promise,
As yesterday,
I'll be here tomorrow,
Just as today.
